hdd or ssd?

Go to solution Solved by epicduck535,

Hey there epicduck535,

It really depends on what you need from your storage. Short answer would be: If 240GB are enough and you need fast storage performance - go for the SSD. If you need more space and/or simple secondary storage device - go for a HDD. :)
Have in mind that gaming relies on the storage's performance only for the loading times while FPS and graphics stay unaffected. :) I would still get a SSD for the OS though - the improvements are significant and is worth it for sure!

Hi, i'v already got a ssd specifically for my OS and a 1tb HDD for storage, im probably going to get a 240gb ssd to put certain steam games that take ages to load such as, GTA5, gmod, war thunder and some new games IL get from the steam sale :D

would a 240gb SSD better than a 3tb HDD?

Depends how much storage you need. SSD for speed, HDD for storage capacity. If 240 GB is enough for your needs, then by all means the SSD will be much better because it offers read and write speeds that a HDD can never deliver. On the other side, if 240 GB is not enough, you'll be better served with the 3 TB HDD.

If you're going for a SSD and HDD setup, then install all your commonly used programs (meaning your Office Programs, most played games, .etc) on the SSD. The HDD should be used for mass storage for files and programs that you don't use as much.

Get a SSD for your boot drive and an HDD for everything else. You'll be sooo glad you did.
