This topic is going to go over how I messed up with my hardware in building my first PC and where I'm looking for help.

When I was building my gaming PC I tried to do as much as I could without bugging my friends too much but there was one major flaw when I built my PC.

It wasn't exactly optimized for the future.

My Rig is as follows:

CPU: AMD FX-4300 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1333
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case
Cooling: (Later Add on) Corsair Hydro Series H80i
Power: EVGA SuperNOVA 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully- Modular ATX Power supply
GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 2GB Dual Superclocked ACX Video Card

I'll leave out the other stuff I think is unimportant, so here's my main issue... my mistake when buying is that my motherboard is Crossfire only compatible, my GPU isn't. My GPU is SLI only compatible.

I didn't notice this issue until I faced a problem with not being able to run newer in the higher/ultra settings. I first noticed this with GTA V, then Fallout 4, and now Rainbow Six Siege. My question for everyone here is: Where do I go now?

-Get a new Motherboard
-Get a new Video Card
-both?

I'm open to any ideas with explanations and what not.

(Side note: I have a problem with my windows 7 now, I need a key for my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit because I had to reinstall windows after my windows got corrupted, I lost my old key which SUCKS. Anyway if anyone has ideas and stuff for this MUCH OBLIGED.)

Have a good day by the by.

Well dual GPU set ups are pretty much only necessary for 4k right now

and otherwise as far as gaming goes your CPU should be doing alright, and your GPU isn't too bad if all you have is a 1080p display

Grab an SSD, maybe get like a free-sync display with a 380 and you should be pretty set.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
