Replacing thermal paste on GPU

Hello forum members,

I have a quick question is there any point to replacing the stock thermal paste on a new reference GPU? 

I would probably be replacing it with ICDiamond.

 

 

Also, what about GPUs that are two years + old, what are the temperature benefits?

a few degrees cooler temps?

unless its overheating and throttling you dont really need to...

Helps if you're overvolting  it higher than the manufacture recommends (like from a modified BIOS) to maximize overclock with a liquid cooler.
