how much difference in performance ? Graphics is not a preference here,

4005U is around 100$ cheaper as compared to 5005U based laptops especially in dell. I am thinking to get 5005U HP but everyone recommending DELL but dell is 100$ costly.

The main improvement from the 4th generation "Haswell" to 5th generation "Broadwell" was the vast improvement in the graphics power...

Nearly double the GPU performance, while maintaining a similar power requirement.

Other then that, there are small improvements in the IPC, and power management.

IMO, depending on the cost of the entire PC (Ultrabook?) if you aren't concerned about the GPU performance, then I'd say save the extra $100 and go for the i3-4005U.

Better yet, choose the i5 variant if that is an option (i.e. i5-4300U).

i.e.

I was in the market for a new Ultrabook earlier in the year, and Lenovo had an option of the i5-4300U or the i5-5300U on the T450 (i5-4300U being on the older model, and i5-5300U being in this year's model). I ended up making the choice of going with the i5-4300U due a price difference of nearly $300~$400. If they were both similarly priced, I would have went with the i5-5300U option.

HP 5005U and DELL 4005U are same priced.

DELL 5005U is 100$ costly.

Well. Does speed difference of 0.3ghz is noticeable in  4005U and 5005U ? or should i buy HP . Peoples here recommending DELL but i personally didn't liked the design of Dell inspiron 3000 series which have 4005U . HP have a silver color matte finish but may be awkward for official use ,

HP don't have air intake vents and no maintenance hatch.

The extra 0.3 GHz isn't going to make much difference -- especially when you are trying to get the most hours out of the PC without a recharge.

You should be looking at the build quality of the two PC's, such as the areas around the hinges.

Digging up your other posts, the laptops are you looking at are in the $300 ~ $400 range.

Taking your word, considering the HP has no visible ventilation, and is not serviceable / upgradeable by the end-user, spend the extra $100 and get the DELL.

Can you post the links to the laptops are you looking at particularly?

I am able to find the DELL, but not 100% sure which HP unit you are looking into.
