m.2 ssd in hero VII mobo not working

I recently got a samsung 850 evo m.2 ssd and when I inserted the ssd and screwed it down, then changed the pcie setting to m.2 mode in my bios, I went to disk management in win 10 and to no avail. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance, guys!

The 850 EVO M.2 is SATA based if you didn't know that. Is that board capable of using SATA based M.2 SSDs?
