Early 2008 MacBook Pro Upgrades

Hi, I'm a newbie on LTT so please don't go hard on me. To start off, I know what you're thinking, He has a really old and outdated computer, with you guys having 16 GB of ram, 500 GB SSD and a Intel core i7 Cpu. But what I'm asking is how far can I upgrade the Hardware, especially the Ram. So here are some Specs: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-2.4-15-early-2008-penryn-specs.html

Thanks in advance

On Apple's support article for your laptop, it says that the computer supports up to four gigabytes of RAM. Apart from that and upgrading the hard drive, you can't upgrade anything else.

Edit: I second Paraletic's recommendation of just selling it and getting a better second-hand Macbook.

CPU i5 4690k 4.5GHz

RAM 16GB 1866MHz

GPU 980 Ti 1.2GHz

According to everymac it can actually take up to 6GB, but it will be hard getting the right RAM in the first place...

Using toilet paper both-sided: sucess lies in your hands.

And the first immature comment is here, sigh.

In my defense, that is what it is. Also in my defense, Linus does it too.

Yeah and you're a sheep, Linus says so I say the same.

Form your own opinion and don't force yours upon others like you did.

According to Apple Support they say that I could use 8 GB  but then it would be Single-chanel.

Depending on the ram restriction of the laptop, you wont get a vastly better experience by upgrading it. Only things I can think of are more ram and a ssd, which will help, but you might as well save up and get a newer used laptop.

Yeah I know, just personally not a fan of Apple or OSX. What I said wasn't necessarily supposed to be taken literally, he/she want's Apple, be my guest.

For Christmas I think I'll just get myself a iPad Air with a Bluetooth keyboard case in place of the Macbook Pro
