Is this a GPU problem?

Go to solution Solved by tS_kStin,

Have you ran the games at stock? Cuz I know if you OC to far then artifacting will happen. That happened with my 780 when I went about +160 and +513 but at +51 and +107 its fine.

Edit: +500 mem seems like alot being its already higher than anything else stock.

So my problem is that when I play Saints Row 4 or Bioshock Infinite my game will freeze and artifacts will pop up ( purple squares ). I cant seem to find the answer by Google it. Anyone know why this is happening.  I have a  EVGA 770 ACX @ +65 core and +500 memory. The rest of my specs are in my sig. Could it be the memory is to high? I know my 770 can handle 4Ghz on the memory.

It could be a heat problem, check your temps on the GPU while in game

my temps go anywhere from 60 to 65 when i play games.

How do you know your 770 can handle that clock on the memory? Just because you pass hours of benchmarks doesn't mean it is stable.

ya true, ill give 3.8Ghz on the memory a try.

likely the voltage is too low for the overclock on the card

I would turn down the mem maybe.

you may only need to add a 4 or 5 more....with afterburner you should be able to add more if needed

Yeah I would up the voltage. I am not sure how afterburner works but I would defiantly up the voltage.

I lowered the mem to +350/3.8Ghz and it looks like it did the trick, THX for the help guys.

Note to self: benchmark a overclock does not tell the hole story.
