Hey there Canto666Hades :) Welcome to the community!

Are you looking for internal drives or external ones?
For internal backup drives I would recommend checking out WD Green. These drives save energy, work pretty quiet and are designed for secondary storage and backups. Here's a link: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=rT9hjT .  I wouldn't consider storing a copy of your data on the same computer a backup, though.
For external drives, what I would recommend, I would suggest either checking out a external HDD (either portable or desktop) or a NAS. Both can store your data from multiple systems but the latter one can be accessed by multiple devices at the same time and even from phones/tablets, etc. Here are some suggestions:

I would be useful if you specified a bit what you are looking to do and get. :)

Dear Awesome People,

Looking for some basic storage devices during this holiday season! I am basically looking for the best price-vs-reliability storage solutions.

A-) An HDD for Backup Storage of family documents/photos/videos, etc.

B-) An HDD or SSD portable for school/laptop/work documents (nothing special but something around 250gb tops)

C-) An SSD for a Boot & Storage Drive for a new mini pc build I am doing. A year ago I bought a Samsung 840 for my current computer (I think) which is decent but nothing crazy, just wanna know a good one for this family PC that has some media usage on it.

Cheers!

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
