Hard Drive internal and external?

Hey so this is what I want to do.

 

I want to use the same drive for an external media library and internally as a os expansion for installed games.

 

My problem.

 

Everytime I use it externally and format it. I'll then put it in my hotswap bay (Haf XB). Windows prompts me to format it in order for it to use

 

I've tried partitioning it doesn't work.

 

 

I was wondering is it possible to use a harddrive Internally when you want and externally when you want. Without having to format. I've now tried NTFS formats and FAT32 to achieve this and neither have worked

Why not just run your games on it externally as well? With USB3 or eSATA, hell even with USB2 it's plenty fast enough for that.

Hot Swap enabeled in BIOS?

 

Or you could get an external eSata drive. Barely any difference with a mechanical HDD. What I do. Huge tower no room because of rads =P

Didn't know usb3 was fast enough to run games, has anyone done this? how was performance? eSata isn't supported by my enclosure.

I didn't see the Hot Swap Enable option in my bios? I'm assuming it is because the drive is detected Its just prompting me to format
