3 Questions

1 - Would sli 970s be good for the future? 2 or 3 way???

2 - Also, I am wondering if a 980 ti would be a better option? Which evga model?

3 - What is the difference between a kingpin and a superclocked 980 ti?

1/2 980 ti is better than 970 sli , you get an upgrade path ( sli 980ti), more vram , better memory bandwith and no sli scaling issues.

2 I would really decide on which model to get depending on three things : the cooler , the price and clock, unless you are doing extreme overclocking the additionnal power phases in the higher tier models might only give you a small improvement.

3 Price is a major factor here , with the kingpin being the highest end card and overclocks better.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

In most situtations, it's best to get the best single GPU possible. In this case, DEFINITELY just get the 980ti over the SLI 970s. The kingpin is a high-tier overclocking card, and superclocked are just factory overclocked. Unless you're looking to break overclocking records there's not really a point in getting a kingpin

I would recommend the Gigabyte G1 Gaming (or whatever they call their 980ti)

And for an MSI motherboard personally I would say the Krait is amazing for the money, but they're all very good, so go for whatever fits your color scheme
