Color differs from image if dragged to a different monitor

TheGuy12211221

The colour of the image changes drasticly if dragged to the main monitor.

I've solved the problem somehow once, but I can't remember how I did it at all. I googled the issue but it didn't find anything.

Specs:

Windows 8

Hd 6850

i7 - 3770

8GB ram

All drivers updated, so don't tell me to update drivers.

Here are my monitors (but i highly doubt that it's the monitors problems):

V7 videoseven L19B (4:3 | 1280 x 1024)

Medion MD 20999 (16:9 | 1920 x 1080)

Here is a video example of what it looks like:

Use the buttons on your monitor to adjust the color/brightness. Put a color scale on both screens and try to match them up the best you can.

I spend an hour trying to get my monitors the same color. Drove me INSANE.

well, if you watched the video you would see that the colours from the image and desktop are the same, unless you drag it to the main monitor...

There are a lot of factors that go into what ratio of colours monitors display - gamma, saturation, RGB bias, panel technology... you're gonna get different colours more or less all the time unless you have two identical monitors.

Your best bet would be to goto the official mircosoft help site and file a ticket.

Check your display settings both with your Catalyst or Nividia panel, as well as windows. Also check your monitor's settings, perhaps there's some sort of auto adjustment option enabled.

Check picture viewers settings as well, does it happen with every program??

No, only if i open a picture.

So like photoshop doesn't do it? Paint doesn't? Just the windows picture viewer?

Oh well if no other programs are having this issue you have a few options:

Check photoviewer's settings

Get a different photo viewing app or change the default opening program to like paint or something.
