Hey Guys!

I would like to askyou guys for suggestions about a CPU cooler which is looking good in a mostly black with some red build. I prefer a good looking air cooler because of it's price, but cheaper but quality water solutions would be OK too, as long as it fits in both phisically, and into the color scheme. I have an MSI Z170A Gaming M3 motherboard, with 2 sticks of HyperX Fury DDR4 RAM (the cooler overhangs the RAM stick just a bit). I'm doing my research on lighter blocks, because I have an i7-6700K which is already slightly bent, and I'm looking forward to prevent further damages to the CPU.

I have a be quite! Dark Rock Pro 3, and I want to change this heavy weighted cooler to something significantly lighter.

Wouldn't some kind of liquid cooler be the lightest choice?

if you really want to go lighter, i suggest getting an AIO watercooled solution. i know you said you prefer air over water, tough an AIO waterblock is basically the lightest you can go with CPU coolers. as the weight from the radiator hangs off of your case.

The biggest worries about AIO's for me, is what if it will starts to leak onto something expensive? Or I have highre chances winning in the lottery first? :P

And also, any suggestions for an AIO that's around the price tag of the Dark Rock Pro 3, and actually supports LGA-1151 socket?

Why does the weight of the cooler matter?

If your worried about PCB flex on your MOBO then I'd go with an AIO water cooler. All air coolers have a decent amount of weight to them, thats the nature of the beast.

I think he's worrying about his Skylake CPU to bend,  because the PCB is thinner on them and they might brake

The weight of the cooler doesn't matter when it comes to making the cpu pcb bend--that has to do with the mounting pressure.

Well, my mounting pressure wasn't too much, I'm really careful about this one, I had a 700gr cooler on my older AM3 socket, and got no problems whatsoever. I had to return my MOBO for RMA but it got bent pins on it too, even tho it's not the original problem because they are still wroking with my bent Skylake which is bent together with the socket pins.  So if they fix/change the MOBO I want to avoid any further problems like this, and I think, that the cooler weight does matter, and a lot more when the system is being moved around (for a LAN party).

? Bent pins have nothing to do with cooler weight.

The PCB of the i7-6700k bent, and the PCB's curvature bent the motherboard's pins with it, and I'm just guessing, that this whole bending wasn't due to the bad mounting, but rather the raw weight of the cooler which is almost 1.2Kgs, bacuse I've hand tightened them, crossways and mounting the cooler outside of the case (to eliminate things like 1 screw holding all the weight) and moved the the whole computer from one table to the other, then later putting the computer more backwards on the table, that's all of mine PC's history of being moved so far.
