My current build is starting to show its age, especially when running modern games, so it's time for some upgrades.  I already have my peripherals and cooling and my ram, psu and storage are all still in great working order so no real need to upgrade them. I'd just like to upgrade my cpu, motherboard and gpu (power supply can be upgraded if need be). I will be doing some modest overclocking and I've had bad experiences with AMD cards in the past so I'd like to stay away from them, unless getting an AMD card is necessary to free up room in the budget for other parts. I'd like to use a white and blue theme and my budget is $600-750 US.

This is what I'd like to upgrade to: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/M2t6GX  Any recommendations or does this look pretty solid?

What is your PSU and RAM? I'm mainly interested in your PSU because you want to make sure you have a solid unit that can handle over clocks and be trusted running your system. I would suggest at least 600w with your proposed set up.

Also what is your GPU? You should put the parts you already own into your build an eliminate the cost.

If you click his profile, you'll see his current build. It's an HX650.

@Decoy, your build is pretty good as it is. I can't make any better recommendations.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I have a corsair hx650w psu and for my ram I have 12gb corsair vengeance, used to be 16gb but one stick died. My current build is on my profile, but heres the list: i5 2500k with a corsair h100i for colling, msi p67a-g45 motherboard, asus gtx 560 ti, 12gb corsair vengeance, corsair hx650w, crucial 520gb ssd & seagate barracuda 1tb, all crammed into a rosewill destroyer.

I understand why u chose the 970 u did ,, its white :P

Could nto see a Galaxy HOF edition 970 on PCpartpicker, but I know they do one. Maybe look that up as its a top end edition of the 970.

BTW a 970 is more or less a 780, which I can tell u from experience is about 2.5x the power in terms of FPS over a 560ti, which is what I had prior to my 780 classified.
