Hi, this is my first build for Gaming PC and i have some doubt on my build. I am planning to use my PC mostly for gaming and some photo editing. I don't intend to do over clocking and I won't do any major upgrade within the next 4-5 years. I live in Indonesia and my budget will be around Rp.20 Million (or around $1500).

My build will be as follows*:

*price= price in the internet dollars; idprice= price in Indonesia converted to dollars. Internet price is based on: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nZyp7P while the Id Price is based on market price for items with US-Rp rates on 7 December 2015.

Problems that i faced with my build:

  • The distributor company for the video card is not one of the big company (i.e. distributor for ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, etc) in Indonesia, it gives 2 years warranty (On 1st year, they will replace it. On 2nd year they will fix it.) while others give 3 years warranty. So there is a concern on the accessibility and assurance for the warranty (i know there's the warranty contract, but i'm not really sure on its application and i don't too much problem for it). But since i read many reviews saying this card quality is good and its pretty durable, is it worth the risk? or should i buy others such as ASUS or GIGABYTE that costs more but give a better warranty.

  • At first insert cooling for my build, but the the sky lake bending issues arise. I know the stock fan from the i7 won't be enough, but is there any solution or should i wait until there are some fixes on this issue? if there are, please tell me what is the best or the safest cooling system (preferably air cooling) for sky lake? Budget will be around $ 50-60

  • There's a chance that i will buy 4K monitor in the future. With this build will it be enough to play game and/or watch movies on 4k monitor? or should there be other changes made in my build?

  • What kind of problems that i will face with my build? How much maintenance i should do with my build?

This will be my first build on gaming pc and my first post, so all critics and suggestion are welcome and thank you in advance.  :D

important thing: what do you intend on doing with this pc?

Mostly for gaming, I do some photo editing but only in the case if the visual department got too much work and can't handle all the works.

Wow, i never realised that MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card is as neat as GTX 980 and much more cheaper. My concern is that there are some articles that mentioned that Radeon card are not compatible with some games.  Second concern is that the ddr3 v ddr4 issue, will ddr3 become obsolete after ddr4? Lastly is the cpu, is Xeon can handle games? i've read that they do great at server and stuff but i rarely heard it in gaming pc. Thanks for the input btw, it helps me with a new option. :)

Well an AMD GPU is going to be compatible with every game, and a 980/390x/Fury are faster GPUs, but the 390 is where it's at for performance per dollar usually, in addition AMD GPUs look to gain a lot more from DX12/Vulkan than nvidia maxwell GPUs will for the near future, and if you end up with a free-sync display it'll save you money vs a G-sync display

DDR3 vs DDR4 doesn't matter like at all for the average consumer

and the Xeon is just a haswell i7 with no iGPU and a locked multiplier, otherwise it's the same chip and it's fairly cheap
