Hello, I am currently wanting to upgrade my current gaming setup.

SPECS:

CPU: Intel i7-3770k 3.5GHz
GPU: GTX 670's SLI
RAM: Don't know but 16GB
BOARD: asus p8z77-v lk
Power supply: Antec HCG 900w

It is a 4 year old system and works well... I want to have more GPU power and VRAM to have max settings on all the newest games... My current setup just isn't cuttin it.

I'm thinking of either getting two 970's or two 390's.

Does this mean I need to upgrade my cpu, board, or power supply?

I don't know to much about pc's in general so any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

You motherboard, CPU and PSU is fine :D Also, what CPU cooler do you have? You could get a higher overclock with a better cooler. Also, dual 390s (or a single 390) would beat dual 970s (or a single 970).

R9 390 CF is about 10-12% faster than 970 SLI cause CF scales better and not to mention 3.5GB of VRAM vs 8GB of VRAM

You would not need new board or PSU its all good.

He has a fantastic quality 900W PSU, why on earth would he need a new one?

I'd go for a 980 or 980ti instead of 2 970's because of SLI and its issues unless you specifically need SLI for something

My Build: i7-4790K, 212 Evo, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600, Intel 730 240GB SSD, WD Blue 1TB, EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX 2.0, NZXT H440 Blue/Black, EVGA 650W 80+Gold.

Most of the time, it's not the computer, it's the person using it.

I have a cooler master hyper 212 I THINK.. Don't know for sure.. Should I get a better cooler?
