Personally, I don't think that the H440 is worth the price premium over the S340, which is already a great case. I vote S340.

S340 will be spot on, one or two fans for the intake at the front is all it needs.

Can i buy cheap fans? or should i buy 25$ ones?

Also no dust filters? how can I block the top and prevent dust from entering?

Just get any decent fans, you don't have to spend loads.  The top and back fans should be exhaust so you won't get much dust entering there.

I have the s340 and it's a great case, however i hear that the H440 is mostly used for things like custom water-cooling so i agree with the other guys on this one the s340 will be just fine. I wouldn't get expensive fans, decent ones do the job too! Add all of that money up that you will save you could buy another game or peripheral for your pc :)

The S340 has terrible build quality compared to some other similar priced cases like Fractal Design Arc Midi R2, Fractal Design Define S and Phanteks Enthroo Pro M. I cannot for the life of me understand why the S340 is so popular.

I asked around since i was interested in the H440 myself, seems like the most common answer i got back was "If i had the choice today, i would get another case, even the new updated 2015 model of the H440 with "improved" airflow still have terrible airflow". Bit of a shame since i want something with better airflow, i love the look of the H440.

Not a fan of the S340, that glossy exterior is pretty meh  <_<

I have an S340 matte black, with some red, and I think it's really high quality compared to the pricetag. I love it!  (I've got mine for 20.000 HUF in the EU, which is around 70-75 USD)

It comes with 2 fans, and with room for 2 more. They got the job done, and you can mount watercoolings in the front side of the panel. As for the S340 populraity, a well-built, well cable managed, color themed S340 just looks good imo.

My son has a computer in each one, and mine is in an s340.

I'd say the choice depends mainly on:

-aesthetics and which one you think looks best, and

-the number of storage drives you have.

The h440 can hold more drives, and that includes more 3.5s. But I also have six 2.5s in mine and zero 3.5s.

If you have mechanical drives, the 440 might be a little quieter, but I can't say for sure because my computer is all solid state so I can't make a good comparison. The back panel is easier to replace on the 340, but they say the revision of the 440 has gotten better.

They're both fine with airflow. In fact, I've tested my s340 with the two Nortua Redux intake fans unplugged while running Furmark. The temperature results were the same with and without the intakes and only the two stock exhaust fans.

I prefer my s340. But if you ask my son, he might say the h440.

I feel that for me personally I have three fans 2 intakes one exhaust 1 fan is for supplying the GPU with fresh air and the front intake for overall airflow and just a normal exhaust so I fell that a S340 or my personal choice would be a Corsair 100R for a budget build
