Fresh install of windows

I am going to be doing a fresh install of windows and am wondering i can delete only windows and not everthing on the ssd. Also if i back everything up on a hdd that i dont want to lose will i be able to bring it back to the ssd. Since this is my first time i am not sure how to wipe the ssd. Any tips are wanted thanks.

Actually yes, make a second partition on the ssd just big enough to put everything you want to save on it. Then put everything on such partition. Then when you boot into the usb or disk with the windows installer only destroy the partition that has the os and then select that partition. :)

go to diskmgmt.msc or diskpart

diskmgmt.msc ->go shrink some random disk ,make a new partition

diskpart ->list disk, select disk x, create partition primary  (Provided have free space)
