This is Canadian Pricing not American.

I bought a Surface Pro 3 yesterday for $899 on sale

but the full price I have to pay is $899 + $169 cover + $79 Pen = $1147

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/microsoft-microsoft-surface-pro-3-12-128gb-windows-10-tablet-with-intel-core-i3-processor-silver-english-st9-00001/10394888.aspx?path=ad8ceb1301c149dd1349f9cde5afe927en02

But I am wondering if I should pay extra for the Pro 4, which already came with the pen

$1179 + 169 = $1348

Because the biggest upgrade from Pro 3 to Pro 4 is the keyboard cover and pen, but I will buy the new keyboard cover and pen to use the with the Pro 3.

It's a $200 difference, that is why I cannot make the decision, if the pro 4 go on sale on boxing day then I will definitely go for it but now I need some advice on it. Please let me know what you think

You get a slightly better keyboard, slightly better internals, and that's pretty much the only noteworthy thing. Up to you.

I still have the 3 and I don't see the 4 as an upgrade.

actually I will buy the new keybaord and pen to use the pro 3.

I'd get the Pro 3 with the new pen and keyboard, because that's where they made most of the big changes.

Surface Pro 4 Is better overall for more demanding applications :) Better keyboard too, not to mention that it actually has more decent and quieter fan to keep it cooler than the Pro 3!

K. Well the only major thing that changed are the internals. If you need that extra bump in performance (doubt it because if you did you'd be looking at a difference device like an actual laptop).

I've seen people complain about overheating issues on the 4. M$ said they can fix it with a software update somehow, but I'm not so sure.

I've had a surface pro 4 for a while and I have not regretted it once since moving from the 3 ;)

That was one of the complaints I've seen on the subreddit was that the Surface wouldn't actually go to sleep, or it would wake up while in a backpack for whatever reason.

My 3 would do it too, but I found out it was my Surface mouse causing it, since it bends and turns on. Somehow I was bending it when moving the bag, so I disconnected it for a few days and it never happened again.

did u mean mouse pad? like the mouse pad bends upwards and was touching the surface and starts clicking?

No I mean the Surface mouse, the bluetooth mouse. You have to bend it into place for it to turn on, but it will also turn on before it actually clicks into place.

Also, which model do u have and what do u think is the difference? aside from keyboard and pen? Like what makes u feel that is worth it?

The upgrade in performance and speed makes me feel like its worth it. I have an i7 Pro 4 but overall it keeps quite cool. Only when I game on it (Yeah... I actually do on the go) it gets a little loud and hot over long periods of time while gaming but while general use like for 30 mins you begin to notice it warm up a little if you feel it at the back.

Lol don't worry about it. If you want the m series you will certainly not be doing gaming except the ones from the store. Go with an i3 for light gaming :)

Yeah that piece of dooky. I shouldn't have bought one.

hmmm so i guess aside from the keyboard and pen, there is not much of a difference right? I guess except for the magnet? I think I should just save $200 and keep the pro 3
