So, I bought a new motherboard, plugged everything in and started the PC. It didn't post. I've checked everything. I decided to take out the gtx 970, and everything seemed to work fine. I put in an older R9 270, and it worked. I tried the 970 again, this time with the HDMI plugged into the integrated graphics. It hanged at the starting windows part. When I tried to boot the PC into safe mode, it got stuck at classpnp.sys. Is it a software problem? Or is my gpu dead?
PS The bios is the latest bios, and the GPU is recognized by the system.

from what board to what board? what PS?  why7 did you plug into ig when you had the 970 in?

from a ga h81 d3 to a msi z97 gd65. I'm currently using a Sirtec 700w High Power 80+ bronze psu. I plugged in the integrated graphics because the 970 won't show up anything on the screen.

the 270 was the old card? pull the 970 out of the case for now. hook to onboard. do a cmos reset. try to boot to BIOS. ( KEEP TAPPING DEL KEY ) to get in. does it work?

also, list all hardware. and if you're trying to use the old HD with the opsys installed on it to boot from..??
