980 TI Temperature

xGear

Hi, I am looking at a new system and am curious about a 980 ti on a reference cooler, I had a 780 ti and it tended to get pretty hot and so I was wondering if the 980 ti has any cooling issues. Cheers, Ben.

It's the same cooler as the 780ti, so it does run hot.

980Ti is the same/worse. Get a non reference cooler, end of.

Thanks, the problem is, the system I want is already built and has a reference 980 ti, should I leave it then?

If you can change it for a MSI/EVGA one, it would be nice.

The system is still very good, and it seems to be a good price.

I would get it, and maybe watercool it later on if the temps become a large issue.

Edit: not really sure why he called it an alienware

Yeah the CPU is watercooled so the air is nice and cool for the GPU. Better stick with this setup.

No warranty, low quality PSU, worst 980 Ti, too expensive

Its not alienware.

The psu is bad, yes, but ti can be replaced for not that much money.

reference nvidia cards wont catch fire or anything

its 1000 pounds, and that dose not seem too bad for a system with a 980ti

Considering you can build a better system WITH a warranty attached to it for that much I do not feel okay recommending it

Wait, its a bid starting at 1000 pounds. you wont get it for any lower than that price.

the cx series is not very good. I have one and it has not caught fire yet as many people say it does, but getting a better one for higher end systems is always recommended.

you could just replace the cx600 psu with the one you have right now.

Right, so if I can pull it for £900 should I go for it and change the psu sometime down the line? And also, can I even run it on this power supply or not bother until I put a new one in? Thanks
