$150 GPU

koji

I saw someone selling Sapphire Vapor X R9 280x for around $150.

It is 2nd hand and he said he purchased it last 2013.

For reference price of Brand new Sapphire R9 380 4GB OC here in my place is around $250.

He said there's an issue.. 1 Fan will only work if it reaches 75% fan speed or if the load of GPU gets high.

Questions.. Is that really an issue or it is designed that way?

And is it worth it to buy the card? Or should I just buy the brand new R9 380 even if the price difference is $100?

Thank you very much!

they are pretty much the same, with a few new bells and whistles here and there with the 380. Id go with the 280x if you can fix that fan for like 20-40$ still worth it

That's the question how can I have the fan fixed..

No, they are not the same.

R9 285/R9 280 are Tonga

R9 280 and R9 280x are Tahiti

R9 280 < R9 285 = R9 380 < R9 280x < R9 380x < R9 290

You maybe able to get hold of a new just fan section of the shroud or maybe just ghetto a fan on there?? Its a really good deal pick it up!! It may just not have the fan connected or something super simple!!
