1. Budget & Location
So, I am from the great old United Stats of Merica'

I'm looking to spend a maximum of $1,000 due to the fact of only being 17 and working a minimum wage job > :(

2. Aim
My plans for this system will be very widely varied. Everywhere from heavy PC gaming, video editing/ rendering, live streaming and software development

3. Monitors
I plan to run a
21:9 UltraWide Full HD (2560x1080) which I can hopefully fit into my budget.

4. Peripherals

I will need to purchase a keyboard and mouse any suggestions for that are greatly appreciated!! I also plan to run Windows 10

5. Why are you upgrading?
Well, I am currently working with a $300 school laptop that struggles to run my favorite games so it is definitely time to up my setup

I'd save up another $500 if you can. Should only take a month or so, but you'll get a much better system.

Once you factor in your peripherals and I'm guessing OS, you really only have $600 in parts to work with; it doesn't make a very nice system, especially with the added strain of 21:9.

That's actually a great point and definitely a do-able thing to do. Any suggestions for a keyboard and mouse? :D

Try to get a cheaper version of windows.

In the future when your new payroll comes in, you can crossfire the R9 380 to fully make use of the monitor. (PSU Enough for XFire)

If you manage to get a cheaper version of windows/free through dreamspark or whatever that will be great.

I'd go for something like a Cooler Master Quick Fire XT, and a Tt e-sports Level10 mouse.

$1000 is by no means even close to a rig that can game and edit well.

You have to understand that.

I wouldn't go cheap on Windows. It's kind of a pretty crucial part of the PC...

Also, the 25" LG 21:9 monitor is garb. It's too small of a size to use at that ratio, it creates a much shorter monitor.

Well you have faster game loading, faster file exploring, a overall more responsive windows experience and a heck less nerves to lose.

I'm probably the only person on this fourm, but I've never saw the advantage of an SSD. An extra minute in boot times or file read/write isn't that big of a deal

Most likely. It's just just boot times. Have you ever tried to open PS when you have tons of additions installed? Or tried to compile a multilayer picture? It can takes several minutes on an HDD based machine. That's lost productivity time, which is lost earnings.

I can't stand HDD based machines, they're way too slow. The only person I know who doesn't mind is my father, and he's 64. ;)

Yeah kinda considered that as well, maybe it is for the best if he could get $500 more rolling in.

Definitely. At this price point, with needing peripherals and a monitor, it would make a massive difference.

An SSD will definitely be added once I begin to edit more so I can have faster transfer time and whatnot

It's a lot easier to add the SSD before hand, since it's what you'll put Windows on to, and it's a pain having to move the OS around...

If you're transferring to an HDD anyway, it won't really speed things up that much. There will still be a bottleneck.

Opening applications and such is loads faster on an SSD. Also, if you do any Photoshop work it's significantly faster on an SSD.
