i needed a AC for a room so i ordered one of these

It's actually really easy lol I was just curious because getting an exhaust pipe going for those ACs is kind of a pain (assuming these units still work like that).

Well, it's really simple to install it, just open the window, adjust the mount and shut the window on it, all done.

Eh sometimes you have to add cardboard to plug holes if you are in an apartment and there is an air conditioner sleeve.

If you can afford a portable unit go with it.  Why would you not want the option of portability ?

Same here, I have no idea but you'll have a warranty right, you should be fine.

For that price, thats a good brand, others are Luxaire and New air. They are a little bit more money (about $400) but they are VERY good units.

All the major brands should have a range of various models to satisfy specific price points.

Are portable AC's any good for a single room? I read on a youtube comment(i know, best reliable source) that a portable AC can't cool a room.

They're good enough, I've had one of them on each end of the house, kept the house nice and cold, actually a little too cool for my liking, but it helps when temps are above 90.
