Active DisplayPort Adapter not passing through green pixels

I have 3 monitors hoked up to my XFX r9280 gpu. They all used to work fine with one over hdmi one over DVI and another over DVI on an Active Display port adapter. Then earlier this week the one hoked up to the Active display port adapter (An old Dell 17 inch 1280x1024) display stopper showing its green pixels(see attached pictures.) . Messing with with the adapter temporarily fixed this however this has stopped working. Do I need a new adapter? The monitor works fine when plugged into the DVI port on my GPU.
