Compatibility is fine, just needs a graphics card.

No, no it's not.

the FX 6300 is not worth when you can get a i5 4460 and a cheaper board for it. The CX PSU is awful for a gaming PC and if this is not a gaming PC I don't see the point of the CPU since even a Celeron is enough for an office machine

No. The 6300 is a good choice if you can only afford an i3 within the budget, but if you can afford an i5, get the i5. CX also is bad for gaming builds so he's right.

What if he can only afford that then? not everyone has lots of money to throw at a pc, I was in his situation a year ago, My fx 6300 oc'd at 4.2 GHz runs GTA V, Fallout 4 and Battlefield 4 absolutely fine.

Is it for Gaming? If so, you have to change some critical Parts.

If he can afford either that or an i3, it depends on the games he usually plays

Yeah it's for gaming, and which parts? D:

Power supply, motherboard, and the graphics card. Can you tell me, what games do you play?

Try to spend another 60$ and get a midrange i5.

And if you only can buy 1 HDD, get a decent SSD.

Also the CX PSU´s arent the best choice for Gaming Rigs.

Please edit your Post with https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

So we can change stuff more easy.

Let's be honest, modern i3s beat the FX

<3

Also, I'd look at different ram than the stuff I've specified in the pc part picker partslist, its too tall and will lead to compatibility issues when it comes to installing big air cpu coolers like the noctua nh-d15
