Yo, anyone knwo if thickness matters.

Thickness doesn't matter unless you use fabric type mousemats. For everything else you want it as thin as possible so you don't start WW3 when you accidentally go off the mat.

SteelSeries QcK is a very popular fabric type mat. Comes in different sizes.

Also a few other variants:

Qck Mass series is the same but is 6mm thick, offering more height and cushion

QcK+ is super large version of the regular QcK range

QcK Heavy is part of the Mass series, but is super large like the Qck+

To expand on this, thickness matters for cloth mats if you're gaming on a rough surface. A cloth mat conform with any bumps on your desk, and mess with mouse tracking. Thicker pads help to alleviate that issue. Hard pads, of course, don't have that issue, since they're hard.
