780ti Sli questions

Maxamus

Hi guys

I'm currently running a Msi 780ti twin frozr and I'm looking to get into running it on Sli. I have two options, the first option is to get a reference 780ti and run it Sli as that's what's available for me or do I get sell my 780ti and get two reference 780ti instead?

Also what's the best setup for Sli with references cards?

Best setup for SLI is no SLI.

Jokes aside though, I agree with don_svetlio, get a 980ti and let there be one card only! The card isn't that power hungry as you think.

Cheers  :)

780ti SLI isn't worth. I assume this is to run 4K or a big resolution? The 3GB VRAM will choke. It's not worth the money

Thanks everyone for the replies!

Looking at the responses it seems the best thing to do is to sell my current card and upgrade to the 980ti. This is to run 4K so what's the best 980ti in regards to bang for your buck?

Oh crap, yea don't bother trying 4k on 7xx anything.  Just a waste of money and a frustrating experience (unless you just want to view static images.)

What Don said.  If you want more than just basic 4k at OK FPS, you'll want dual GPUs - I'd recommend the Fury X, they scale better than NVidias cards.  That may change with the newer Pascal series, but that is probably at least 6 months from wide release, and longer before their prices are reasonable.

Get a sell it and get a 980Ti and if you can't afford it get a R9 390X.

The Gigabyte Windforce 3X and MSI Armor 2X seem to be the cheapest ones in most regions. Unless you are looking to overclock your card to the utmost maximum there isn't really much point in spending more for fancy designs if you are just looking for price/performance.
