Secrets to better footage on a budget

I am currently using a sony SX45 1080p camcorder and the footage that I am getting is quite grainy

and I was wondering if any of you have an suggestions to get better looking footage until I can get my t3i

Get some better lighting and a tripod. Those are the two biggest things overlooked when beginners start filming. Resolution isn't all that matters when you buy a camera, that sony 1080p camera was probably less than 500$ and performs like it. When you get a DSLR camera, it will be super shaky and you will need a tripod or software enhancement to help with that. To get true, good, HD performance, it costs a lot more than you might think.

I have a tripod

 

a manfrotto

 

also a monopod

 

and for lighting I have 3 of these with a piece of paper taped over them

got a t3i for my birthday, using the money I was gonna buy the t3i with and spending it on some pro lighting and a rode mic tomorrow

went pretty good, the lighting worked decent and the camera's quality is excellent
