M4000 vs GTX 980Ti and more

JuztBe

Hello,
1. What I'm interested is how older professional grade cards compares to new "gamer?" grade cards in Autocad, photoshop and etc. I'm not looking for exact numbers, X card would crash Y in every way, expect maybe for "something", that would be good enough for me.
2. If you are working with graphics, witch one would you pick if budget is not a factor.
3. Powereful CPU is required for photoshop, autocad, 3dmax etc? Or GPU is all what matters in thees kind of programs?

(According to my father, using AutoCAD 2007) AutoCAD is more heavy on the CPU vs the GPU.

For 3d modeling it's the same.

For Photoshop it's the same.

If you have the budget, a new "gamer" card would be better than an old "professional" card.

I mean, my dad uses a Quadro FX from 2005 to run AutoCAD. Then again, it's not a newer version, but it's the same thing now. The reason I say a new card would be better is because it's more powerful in general.

I used to be quite active here.

Quadro and GTX have different firmwares and aim for different goals. Older Quadro Cards are totaly fine for actual CAD Programs.
