Connecting it to the gpu directly worked! Thank you so much for the help! :)

are you sure that you have plugged it into your monitor

 

have enough power and

 

have a working display

without pictures, and maybe like a story of what you did step by step i can help you no further

The pc is completely put together I did a post test before installing everything and made sure to use an anti-static wristband. Upon plugging in the hdmi connector to the back of the mobo and connecting it to the monitor it displays nothing. The monitor says there is no input even though it is connected to hdmi one and the computer is turned on.
