Picking a Power supply

Go to solution Solved by givingtnt,

500 is fine

but id get something like a 650w evga b2 tho.

aight so i need a power supply i have a r9 270 thats factory over clocked the box says that it needs 500w and the processor im getting is an amd fx 4130 it needs 125w so should i go with a 530 watt psu or 600 i know that you should use a psu around the same wattage that your system needs or a little bit above it for the most performance any addvice you guys could offer me is appreciated

Yeah you never want to cheap out on a power supply unless you want a broken PC, Be Quiet! has some nice silent ones

yeah but $$$

my evga one is on the fanless mode 24/7

Does it run okay? And does Be Quiet! have something similar to that? That sounds dangerous

the fan activates if I go over I think 60% power

it never does

and its cool

so yeah it works amazing

just how hot does that psu get or do you cool it another way

not hot at all. sometimes the fan will spin up. but then shuts down on its own.
