I have a PC Win7 Ultimate which is on my 500GB HDD.

Now I recently bought new parts for upgrade. They say that it's better to clean install Win10. So I will not install win7 anymore on my new SSD.

Im downloading the Win10 PRO 64-bit ISO using MediaCreationTool from Microsoft.

Now my question is.. How can I get the Win10 Activation out of this Win7? Should I upgrade this HDD to Win10 1st before I can get it? I want to install Win10 on the SSD not on the HDD.

Record your windows licence key for your current OS and enter it into the activation page in 10. You can use valid Windows 7/8/8.1 keys for Windows 10.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Really? I'll try that. I've read one saying it wont work. Well not everything on internet is correct.

It used to not work, but Microsoft changed it.
