I don't see why your rank would carry over, so I'll confidently say level 1.

Why would you start from 100? Thats all the fun, leveling up, if they did that they'd just shorten the life of the mp which makes no sense

I agree. The most fun I had in BF3 was working for the glorious title of "Colonel Service Star 100"... I honestly thought I'd stop playing once I hit max level, but to my surprise I'm still playing to this day. It would be a shame if I missed out on leveling in BF4 though.

They could always carry over your rank, but you'd still have to unlock weapons and such.
