Hey,

I'm getting a pair of se425 next week and look forward to improve my listening experience by coupling this excellent pair with lossless audio. My question is where can I buy lossless audio files (I live in Germany) besides ripping one's CDs. The few sites that offer lossless files don't seem to carry the music I'm looking for, why is that? So I wondered if modern music is even produced / sold to the consumer in lossless quality? Does it even affect for instance electronic music or would you guys rather say lossless is of bigger importance for jazz or classic?

Lossless is usefull in all types of music. It does depend on whether or not the producers of the music didn't suck and just made a bad mix. You can try looking at BandCamp for music that you like. They have a lot of electronic music and sell downloadable FLAC files.

Most of the time, you can't get FLAC files online. It's not big enough of a niche for producers to actually release them and get a significant amount of popularity from.

The only thing you can do at that point is to buy the physical CD and rip it with EAC.

For anything other than electronic and the occasional rap album, there's not really anywhere legal and reliable to get FLAC files other than a physical CD.
