Overclocking laptop gpu

I would like to know is it reasonably safe to overclock a gtx560m 3gb graphics card on an Asus g74sx ? Is it worth it regarding the possible performance gain ? Feel free to inform me on all you know about this topic

Probably not worth the heat or power draw unless you have your laptop plugged in and is well ventilated.

You will probably not be able to overvolt it (That is not recommended anyway), but you can try and overclock it. Just use MSi Afterburner and increase the coreclock by 5-10 MHz and test for stability. Repeat this untill you get instability.

Don't even try increasing the voltages even if you can. I used to have a laptop with a GTX460M which would heat up to about 93 degrees Celsius during Unigine Valley.

I tried it with my GT 445M 3GB GPU (without increasing voltage) and the temps were fine, but there were small artifacts so I set it back to default before I got A BSoD.

A clevo laptop might since they put a lot of copper in the laptop and some places offer extra copper heatsinks and ic diamond compound, but it still really isn't worth.

 

I would try to see if you could undervolt it so you can get some extra battery life out of it.

ASUS G series has excellent ventilation. You cannot over volt laptop cards, you can however change the clocks. The level of overclock achievable however, is limited. I usually use 'nvidiainspector' for overclocking purposes.
