wireless headphones

is the sound any worse because they are wireless?

Wireless headphones are going to sound worse than their wired counterparts.  That doesn't mean there aren't good wireless headphones though.

I have a pair of USB wireless G930s, and audio both through the speakers and mic is excellent unless one gets out of range or the battery gets low.

Whatever Sennheiser wireless headphone that fits in your budget. Expect to pay more for a given level of sound quality.

Try the SHP9500 with the Mpow bluetooth adapter.  That's what I'm doing.  My SHP9500 is supposed to be here by 12-17 (massdrop) and as soon as I find some filler I'm ordering the Mpow from Amazon.
