Cloning RAID array to non-RAID drive

MajesticHF

- I currently have 2x120GB Samsung 840 EVO in RAID0 (via Intel RST).

- I recently bought a 250GB Samsung 850 EVO.

- I want to clone the 2x120GB 840 EVO to the 250GB 850 EVO.

Is it possible? If yes, how would I do it?

The reason why I ask is because I'm assuming cloning a RAID array to a non-RAID array would require a bit more effort because IIRC, RAID arrays use different boot drivers, or something like that.

It is possible. I've done it many times. Not sure if you can do it with free software though.

If you just want to recover files, ReclaiME does a great job and is easy to use.

If you want to do a full clone, something like Acronis True image does the job though might be more problematic.

If the 2 RAID 0 ssd's are your current boot drive/C drive just use the Samsung disk cloning software.

Hey there MajesticHF :)

As the guys suggested I also believe that the tool that comes with the drives should be able to do the job. Other tools such as Acronis should also be able to handle this. Do have in mind that cloning always involves a certain amount of risk for driver issues and other compatibility problems as well as it will transfer all the data including any potential malware and errors so I'd say if you can do a fresh install - do it. :)
