Are these 288 pin?

Go to solution Solved by Naeaes,

There's much more to memory compatibility than just DDR4=DDR4... It'd be plain stupid not to match the memory you buy with a Qualified Vendor List. Here's one from Asus themselves for this particular motherboard. Memory manufacturers have their own lists and they're more up to date but you need to look up each manufacturer separately.

www.corsair.com

www.gskill.com

www.crucial.com

And so on...

Do not trust pcparpicker alone! It's a great index and a good overall guideline repository but the intricate differences in memory modules are way too complex for a resource such as that to be 100% reliable. And keep in mind, they're not liable. They won't give you money back if it turns out that the memory is not compatible. Nor will the retailer, if you go in like "I looked up the compatibility on a third party site but not on the manufacturer's website."

Manufacturer-wise I'd suggest you look into some of the more prominent manufacturers.  I've never heard of this Avexir, so I'm not going to say they're not fine. But the fact that they don't have a compatibility chart available does not bode well in my books.

Can anyone tell if these are 288 pin, I can't tell and there is no text about it, this motherboard: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z170progaming only accepts 288 according to Pcpartpicker.

Thanks for typing all that out, it's the red LED's that are selling it for me, although it's not nessecary, i've looked into and there's a LTT question asking how reliable they are, many have said they are fine, but i'd have to make sure about the compatability, thanks for bringing that to light.

Might be naive, but they are marked as a qualified vendor and the RAM works: c678dc16e9f2b3c79af706e5c2ce6c3f.png
