So i have been thinking about going to a 980ti and was saving up and i have been posting on this forum constantly to try and make my set up more awesome. I was only going to upgrade the monitors and graphics card and call it a day. But i saw the hue + from nzxt and i happened to find my self with enough money for a major upgrade. x99, ddr4, case, graphics. one of the things I was thinking for this build was that since i am getting the hue+ the versatility for the build to look awesome no matter what colours i throw at it is kinda key. I figured black would be nice, and i linked the parts i picked out. Also not in the list was i was going to pick up a full set of custom cable replacements for my power supply to really drive it home. things i will be keeping from my current rig are, my two 4tb drives and ssd boot drive(overkill yes but i will never run out of space), the cooler nzxt kraken x61, and the power supply which is a corsair ax860.

the new parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tBCc8d

I was thinking of a black out theme and then rgb some stuff. But obviously because this is going to be a major penny drop i wanna make sure that 1. I am getting good parts so i won't feel like i wasted money on substandard parts and 2) they will look good with some rgb effects and what not.

I think black goes good with a lot of colors but i figure a second opinion from some people who are crazy about computers, like me, could help.

Yes i know that this maybe unnecessary but its a labour of love. I started building pcs a couple years ago and i'm trying to do more creative things with it as the days go by.

Building pc's is a very expensive hobby, I really wouldn't recommend getting too much into it. X99 is workstation grade stuff, not needed at all if you can't throw a decent workload at it.
