Memory question

So, I want to get a 1x8GB HyperX DDR4 now, and then add another stick later for dual channel, but on their website, I saw this

 

MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS for Dual Channel mode. Kingston offers "K2" kit part numbers for Dual Channel mode.

 

So does this mean, that if I get the same memory module later, and install it, it wont work in dual channel?

 

Also what is the difference between single channel DDR4 and dual channel DDR4 in games?

It will work together, and basically no performance improvement in games.

no extra performance. The extra RAM will help though!
