I've posted before here my first plans to build my first pc. But, then it was just more of a fantasy. But now, I have the funds and a bit of know how in finding parts and this is what I can come up with:

CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i GTX 104.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($114.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive  ($77.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $914.41
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

My goal here is to futureproof this system as much as I can. I'm looking into gaming in 1440p with a stable average fps of 60fps. But, i think i will maintain at 1080p. I'm in Malaysia, so prices (with the current exchange rate sucking massive balls right now) will vary and also availability of the parts also will vary. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.

If you can, get the Intel Core i7-6700k. It will probably give you more desirable performance from the start (6600k=4790k-ish). Ditch the hard drive and SSD. Get a WD Black drive. Get an 850 PRO series, Intel 750 series or Kingston HyperX Predator SSD. I'd probably stick with the Intel or the HyperX or Intel drive, as these operate off the NVMe standard, rather than the aged AHCI standard. And a larger kit of memory. 8GB is barely enough today and 16GB will be barely enough tomorrow. 32GB should seal the deal for a while.

"Not breaking it or making it worse is key."

"Bad choices make good stories."
