Got My 980ti!

RelentlessAF

I've also had a 2GB GTX 660, it crashed even if I OC'd it a tiny bit. Apparently 660's didn't like overclocking

My 660TI's did  1150mhz on the core and 6600Mhz on the mem ... so yeah

Let's agree to disagree

That's more reasonable, your core clock is 1227MHz, not 1568Mhz.

Here's mine for comparison: http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/6631764/fs/5335950

My bad I went off Unigine Valley it must have given me a bad output. What is your voltage? Currently I maxed my potential overclock on the core without it crashing with a +10 core voltage.

It's a shame you paired it with an i5. That's why you're dropping to 40 fps.

I plan to upgrade the CPU and mobo in the near future.

Try 4x. You'll see tour experience improve drastically.

I was about to post that exact same comment.

I haven't changed my core voltage, only increased the power limit to 109%.

Hey guys, I got my EVGA ACX 980ti a few days ago and went ahead and put it in my gaming PC. I was able to get a great overclock Core Clock is 1568Mhz and Memory Clock is 3808Mhz with a 105% Power limit and +10 on the core voltage. It runs at about 74C under full load for extended periods of time.

I was able to play Fallout 4 Maxed at 1080p with a min frames of about 47 fps when out in the world. Max obviously of 60 since I capped the framerate. In Crysis 3 maxed out I was averaging about 42fps overall. All in all I am very happy with my GPU purchase and won't need an upgrade for quite awhile. If anyone else has this GPU lemme know what overclocks you got and if you are happy with the performance :D

Here is my FireStrike test results for you guys in case you wanted to see it!: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9484216?

nice :-) sick card and a real good clock.

but...

I think you should be getting a higher score...

at about 1,540mhz im getting 21,541 graphics score http://www.3dmark.com/fs/6169734

cant always trust 3dmark either... my result shows lower than I actually run. MSI afterburner is all I trust

1080p and 60fps cap with this Card? Why you bother with OC in the first place? Even reference Design would be waste of Performance.

Also 47 FPS is way too low in FO4 for this Card. I have ~80fps in the open and i game in 1440p. Your FS Score with 17k is too low too. Should at least be 20k with that OC.

Something is not working right Dude. You should check that out.

No its not. I have the 2500k and my FS Score is 3k more than yours and my Card is way faster in Fallout. No Bottleneck at all. And if my CPU doesnt bottleneck the Card, yours shouldnt either.

It's the physics score and the combined test that are lower. The graphics test score is similar to what I'm seeing from others with my slightly lower clock. I should also mention that the PCI-E socket I am using has 8X speed as compared to the top slot with a 16X speed. I was told this would have no effect though.

Using an 8x PCIe slot will reduce your FPS by several percentage points. It will not be noticeable to you, but remember that these benchmarks are designed to pick up the smallest differences. It is definitely holding back your 3DMark graphics score.

Is this because your cpu cooler is too large and the gpu won't fit?

No it's because the slot died.

That makes sense I mean honestly I didn't really buy it thinking "Oh man imagine how well I can Fallout 4!" I thought "This should allow me to play all the game I play really well without needing an upgrade for awhile.

You can get more out of your games by taking advantage of the DSR feature. You're not forced or stuck running your games at 1080p native just because you have a 1080p panel. ;) DSR at 1440 or 4k on a 1080p panel with reduced AA will give a sharper/better image quality and possibly better performance.

It's possible with a newer mobo but a new Z77 mobo is like $130.

I think it's kind of silly to buy a new Z77 mobo when I could wait a bit longer and get a new chipset with a new CPU. Preferably one that's better for rendering.
