Thermal throttling damaging card?

Tasuma
Go to solution Solved by OddsCrazyStuff,

Recently MSI After burner has been starting my pc with my GPU fans turned off. I keep forgetting to them on before a playing certain games. League and csgo don't seem to make the fans kick on but I do notice stuttering sometimes while playing that reminds me to turn them on. I was curious if this throttling has or would damage the card severely? I've run some test and everything seems OK. Just worried I may have screwed up. Never had this issue before. Gonna uninstall and reinstall afterburn or just get something new! :)

Thermal throttling is the cards way to prevent damage. So you should be fine.

Aldo, a lot of heat over a long period of time can reduce the lifespan of the card.

I shouldn't stalked looked around his profile.. c: @Tasuma make a custom fan curve?

I have one! I'm just saying that MSI turns off my fans on boot and I forget to turn it in. But would the throttling that occurs before my dumbass turns it back on hurt the card too badly?
