Hi guys, I'm looking to build a new PC in Australia and wanted help with making a bulid.

1. Budget and Location

  • Around $2000 AUD, give or take $200
  • I am currently based in Australia and will be working with Australian dollars

2. Aim

  • I plan to use this PC for work productivity, such as spreadsheets, web browsing and general office use
  • I will occasionally use it for gaming (e.g. GTA V, Dragon Age Inquisition), ultra-high graphics are NOT important to me

3. Monitors

  • I plan to run 2 Dell U2414H monitors at 1920x1080 reso

4. Peripherals and Preferred Hardware

  • I will need a copy of Windows 10 for my new PC
  • I would also like to have an SSD for a faster boot time
  • I would also like to use Cooler Master's HAF X case
  • I would also like to use Creative labs GIgaWorks T40 Series II Speakers
  • If you could suggest a decent sound card that would be nice also - I mainly listen to music in mid-range and movies (vocals)

5. Why am I upgrading?

  • I would like to build a new PC haha

6. Other Notes

  • The budget includes the monitors
  • Cooling is very important to me, which is why I chose the HAF X case

Thanks so much, any recommendations are appreciated!

Hello!

First, i am newer to this so do not trust my suggestions without others commenting, maybe even improving my build, as you have said you are wanting a certain case and speakers,

That being said this is the build, and keep in mind you maybe able to find windows cheaper elsewhere or even buying windows 7 and upgrading to 10 for a cheaper but a little more complicated way to get some money back.

With a simpler case and speakers this is the build. (not saying you should choose one over the other though)

Hope this helps.

@micajesse follow your topics.

do you already have said 2 monitors and speakers?

they're quite the expensive piece of kit, and i feel like you could get something cheaper, in trade for a better performing system.

this is what you can do for around $2K AUD

well.. he only mentioned "AUD" twice... so you're not *that* blind...

Well, he did mention that he wanted the monitors in the price so your not *that* blind, and not *that* much of a hypocrite! I did say i was new and to not follow it with out seeing that everything was right.  :P
