What should I change on my system on this very moment? Right now. Or is there any need for any change?

P.S. I'm planning on moving to new system sometime next year, maybe 3rd qaurter 2016 to either Skylake 6700K or X99 5820K...

  • Motherboard : Asus ROG Maximus V Gene
  • RAM : Kingston HyperX Predator 2x4GB 2400MHz
  • GPU : Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 Gaming

Those are all pretty decent specs. If anything i would get a new mouse or keyboard unless you love generic. Maybe some headphones if you dont have any? X99 Wouldnt be that bad of an update, later next year the skylake refresh is rumored to be released.

Another 8gb of rma would help :)

new monitor? maybe go 1440p?

Or you could upgrade to an i7 and skip skylake since you wont really benefit much

Its a good PC though I see no reason to really spend any money

Yeah, I was thinking about that CPU's a lot lately and it was probably the best solution for me to wait until Q3 2016 for possible upgrade. It would also mean going for DDR4 and X99/Z170 mobo though + some AIO CPU cooler like H100i or H110...

As for monitor, the only one I would buy is Asus Swift PG279Q but it's quite expensive now and I really don't know how would my GTX 980 perform on that resolution and speed of over 140Hz :)

Maybe just some peripherals and additional 8GB of RAM would suffice.
