HP Compaq Pro transfer?

Hey guys.  I was wondering, for anybody who has experience with the HP Compaq Pro 6000 series, is it possible to transfer a motherboard from a slim HP compaq case to the mini tower version in the same series - are the motherboards in business model PCs the same for slim and tower version?  I'm aware that pre built computers use different IO connections than typical cases you buy, but I wasn't sure if the IO connections on these two were identical.
