First time posting on the forum, sorry if I'm in the wrong category.

I am also doing a first time build and would like to ask for some enthusiasts to give me some insight on if it's good or not.

Here's the link:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/badmanbman/saved/zscD4D

Note: I might switch out the 960 for a 770 my friend is selling me for 100 dollars.

Try this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($159.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Better than the FX 6300

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3-A (rev. 1.0) ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($49.99 @ Newegg)

Eh...its a motherboard

Memory: Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($31.45 @ SuperBiiz)

Plenty of memory for gaming...dual channel is better

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($39.10 @ SuperBiiz)

Due to your budget, we cant put in an SSD, but Seagate are reputable for their hard drives

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 950 2GB Video Card  ($129.99 @ Newegg)

This had to be taken down to the 950 because of your budget

Case: Thermaltake Commander MS/I Snow Edition (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($24.99 @ Micro Center)

Ehh...good reviews

Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply  ($29.99 @ NCIX US)

EVGA are reputable for their good power supplies

Total: $465.50

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Nope...you're better off getting a 1TB HDD because SSDs aren't made for reading and writing and they don't affect game performance. Therefore, they're better off with a HDD, you can fit a mountain of games on there

OK...lets try that again:

Considering that you don't need a Hard Drive, you shouldn't need an SSD. So I upgraded your CPU and GPU (4GB) and downgraded a couple of parts. The Power supply is very good. The case...ehh...its a case.

That PSU is godawful - worse than the CX. Please. For the love of his PC - get the XFX(SeaSonic S12G rebrand)

Check out the updated build that I threw in. Also, the SSHDs are quite expensive (at least in Australia) and wouldn't recommend them until they're a bit cheaper. The HDD should do you fine

CM are a different story - but even then you're pushing your luck. Cheaping out on a PSU frequently results in dead components or even a house fire
