The performance increase is marginal to none. Hoped for more, but it's still an improvement overall.

following... I really want to know what people think of this.  I really would like to get the opinions of someone who's played on both teams so we can get a comparison between this and nvidia's software.

Just out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on crimson so far? I, for one, am loving the new layout and features.

 

Think it's worth the upgrade? If so, do you reckon I should uninstall my previous drivers first or just install crimson over top?

Yeah it's definitely worth the upgrade, the only time you would need to uninstall your old drivers is if they were malfunctioning, just install Crimson over them.

I love a few things.

AUTOMATIC MOTHERFREAKING UPDATES!

The new design is amazing.

The new Displays windows shows settings for all monitors.

It lets you overclock you monitor.

Per game overclocking.

 

a few things I don't like.

To actually change any of the "other/advanced" settings it still opens CCC (But some tabs have been removed(I suspect this will be until they port all the settings into their new UI)) 

The Display Tab doesn't have a resolution setting.

The Display Tab doesn't have a refresh rate setting.

The advanced eyefinity option are done through CCC still and are slower than ever.

CPU Overdrive is gone. :-(

 

But whatever they've done to the driver it initializes way quicker. My boot to desktop time dropped significantly. Also Haven't had a Catalyst has crashed and recovered message (Yet)

Looks and functions exactly the same on Linux.

Not exactly..... This version natively supports 4.x kernels...

It also happens to perform a lot worse in some games under Linux.

That is based off my personal experience so far.

Yeah I was being pedantic... 

I was defiantly sad that they didn't have the new QT interface on Linux.
