Hello everyone,

i have to ship a case and motherboard that i just sold.

I was wondering: would you say it is safer to ship the MB installed on standoffs inside the case

or to ship them separate each in its own box?

Please note that i don't have the antistatic bag for the mb.

Thanks!

Better to ship it in the case, in my opinion. It wont move around and it wont require an anti-static bag. But i could be wrong.

It should be fine in the case, there's nothing weighing down on it like a graphics card.

Shipping it in two boxes separately just adds a large cost to the shipping.

If PC vendors can ship computers constantly fully assembled, I'm sure just a case and motherboard is fine...

thanks guys,

the one thing that worries me is that in case of sudden impact (say... the courier throws my package...) the board will absorb the shock only through the nine standoffs instead of through a muck larger area if it was laying in cardboard.

But maybe i'm overthinking it... there is still the case foam packaging that should absorb most impacts.
