My Computer Wont Boot Up! :'(

Go to solution Solved by yannickverc,

Looks like your OS drive failed.

So yesterday (11/22/15) I was convinced by a friend to upgrade to windows 10 from my Windows 7 again.....(yes again, I didnt it like it when it first came out so I already had done a previous build reset before). When playing games on it, such as Battlefield and Call of Duty and CS:GO etc, it didn't feel the same. So I wanted to change back to windows 7. This morning I went to play on my computer and I got the BSOD, that says:

56760-BSOD_screen.png

I wasn't too panicked, so I let it restart but it kept doing that So I soon then said, "F**K Windows 10, I knew it was garbage", and selected to go back to my windows 7. As it was going back to my previous build I got this error:

This is when I started to get very nervous, I went into my UFEI BIOS and went to my boot up section, and it still recognized my SSD which had the *old windows* and said it still had windows 10 installed. So I  went to restart it again and now I keep getting this:

and now I come to the people to get help, worst comes to worst I ill bring it to my local computer store and get help.

I appreciate any and all help!

Thanks in advanced,

So did I lose everything on that drive?

Depends how much of the drive is corrupted. There's ways to find out but I don't know them personally, my friend did it for me when I had this happen.

Damn, I think I might just go to my local computer store.

Just don't let them install it for you or you'll pay a shitload. Just buy a new drive and install everything yourself

How big of a thumb drive do I need?

You wanna install windows from a USB?

8GB should be enough

try using a different computer to access your hdd. If the other computer doesn't recognize or open the drive properly, it's probably dead and you should bring it to an assistance center if you want any chance of getting what was on it back. If it's readable, just backup all your useful data and reinstall windows from scratch.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Before anyone does anything, I have had a similar problem. Windows 10 gets the drives confused. Try switching you boot drive to another drive that is installed. Windows for me needs to have a drive selected, that doesn't acutally have the OS on it, to run Windows, if that makes sense at all. It is weird and stupid, but you should try it. Windows is installed on my C drive but I need to have my E drive selected to boot.
